Welcome to JF Boat Building Ltd, a specialist bespoke narrowboat builder and maintainer based in Lichfield, Staffordshire.

We provide bespoke narrowboat building, repair and refurbishment services for narrowboat owners across the country.

We’re equipped to handle services on-site at your location or safely transport your narrowboat to our Lichfield workshop for advanced work.

JF Boat Building Ltd was founded in January 2022 where it was set up as a limited company by the current owner and now director Jamie Franklin. Previous to this the company was run as a sole trader doing mobile joinery work which was set up during the pandemic in 2020.

Prior to this, Jamie worked at another bespoke boat-building company for almost 2 years. We are now based at Wharf Farm Barn Marina in Kings Bromley, in the small city of Lichfield. We aim to offer a bespoke build experience covering every aspect of the fit-out through to the finished item.

We use award-winning Tim Tyler shells. We have a dedicated workshop for all our joinery and engineering needs, with the addition of the dry dock below for painting works.

We cover all aspects of designing, building and furnishing your luxury narrowboat.
